The 1st season of Bachelor in Paradise premiered on August 4, 2014.

Chris Harrison reprised his role from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette as the host of the show.

The winners of the first season were Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul, and Cody Sattler and Michelle Money.

Filming and development[]

In March 2013, ABC canceled Bachelor Pad after three seasons. ABC then announced a new spin-off series, Bachelor in Paradise. The season was filmed in Tulum, Mexico.

In the Season 1 finale, host Chris Harrison presents the couples with an ultimatum: They must leave the island unless they can see their relationships continuing in their daily lives. Later, the final two couples attend the season's last rose ceremony.

Chris and Elise broke up after less than two weeks.

Chris was engaged to Katie Morton whom he met on the 6th season of Bachelor in Paradise. They announced their break-up on December 10, 2019. He briefly dated Katrina Badowski from the 24th season of The Bachelor.

In December 2014, Michelle and Cody announced that they decided to end their relationship, and got back together in June 2015, but later broke up again.

Michelle is currently dating golfer Mike Weir.

Marcus and Lacy were wed by Chris Harrison on the season premiere of season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise. On June 16, 2016, Marcus confirmed to E! News, that he and Lacy are no longer together and that they never were legally married, because their wedding took place in Mexico.

In July 2016, Marcus started a relationship with Ally Lutar. They got engaged on May 9, 2017. They were married on January 6, 2018.

Robert briefly dated Becca Tilley from season 19 and season 20 of The Bachelor. He is currently dating Charly Jordan.

Sarah is currently in a relationship with Dylan Brown.

Zack is currently dating Helen Owen.

Jackie got engaged to Brandon Owens on August 10, 2017. They were married on February 2, 2019.

AshLee married Aaron Williams on March 19, 2017. On March 20, 2018, they announced that they were expecting their first child, a daughter. Their daughter, Navy Lee, was born on September 11, 2018. On April 19, 2020, they announced that they are expecting their second child.

Clare was engaged to Benoit Beauséjour-Savard whom she met on The Bachelor Winter Games. They announced their split on April 6, 2018.

Clare is currently engaged to Dale Moss whom she met on her season of The Bachelorette.

Dylan Petitt is currently dating Jenna Fitzsimmons.
